One of the other tamers was killed.  Alfred.  A nice bloke.  I was so busy with the dragons, I didn't even hear about Alicia.  Didn't even think about the fact that we were supposed to meet for lunch.  I just blew her off, thought she was mad at me, and that's why I hadn't heard from her.  I didn't see the paper until a week later.  Missed the funeral.  Haven't even...  I don't know where her grave is.

Dilly broke.  Between Alfred and Alicia...  He got a job in San Fransisco, at the Magic School, teaching Care of Magical Creatures.  I think it's a better fit for him.  I've taken over the lease on his flat.  Never even managed to tell Hermione that I was moving out.  Should have at least owled her.

Barely even had a chance to open Christmas presents.  Two tamers down.  Maybe I should owl Joscelin Jones to see if he's ready to return home.  Brilliant tamer, the Welsh Preserve could use him.


Need to owl Mum and Dad, let them know that I am still alive.

I had forgotten how sweet Hermione was. Uptight but one of the sweetest girls I know. She didn't have to give me floor space but she did despite what happened last time. She's good friends with Ginny. She should feel like a little sister but she doesn't.

That's worrying.

But it's nice to see some of my old mates at the Welsh reserve. They're not quite sure how long they'll need me but if needs be, I might transfer from Romania. Is it time for a change? I'm not sure....
